Siberia in Winter

Goal-wise it was failure. We did not manage to make the first Polish winter ascent of Siberia’s highest peak: Mount Belkukha (4506 m). What I did manage, though, to experience was much more precious: surviving a car accident, driving at night on a frozen river, sleeping in a tent with -40*C, but above all meeting Volodia – a mystic living for the last 14 years in the taiga.
